10 Movie Scenes That Were Almost Impossible To Film
Description
Hey, remember that tray-catching scene we talk about in, like, EVERY Spider-Man video ‘cause it’s just so dang cool? That sucker was tough to pull off. That adhesive-assisted scene might have been a feat of skill and endless takes, but we’ve got ten more challenging cinematic feats to dig into right here in this trivia filled video.
With that new Hawkeye trailer debuting, I knew I needed to revisit the other holiday-themed Marvel sensation — Iron Man 3! The big skydiving scene, in which Tony Stark saves thirteen falling passengers and personnel after a hole’s blasted in a plane, is a centerpiece for the film’s action. You might think this was done with green screen, but the stunt team went out and did some Point Break style tests and badda bing badda boom, figured out how to nail it with a combination of professional skydivers, hidden parachutes, a generous helping of wire work, and over 600 individual jumps.
And hey, you know who really loves aerial stunts? Christopher Nolan! Dude took apart a plane in mid-air back in Dark Knight Rises and crafted some pretty sick dog fights in Dunkirk, but we won’t be talking about those. The hallway sequence in Inception, in which Joseph Gordon Levitt does his best Fred Astaire and fights his way along the walls and ceiling, in what is a clear homage to cinematic masterclass High School Musical 3, is the real MVP. Of course we also include Tom Cruise on this list, as well as the likes of Werner Herzog, Orson Welles, Steven Spielberg, and Jackie Chan, just to name a few. Also Cliffhanger, aka one of the greatest movies of all time. That’s a popular opinion, right?
