Description

Sci-Fi has brought some of the best creations to the screen - such as lightsabers, spaceships, flying cars, teleportation devices and of course jet packs! These are of course still works of fiction and yet to be created in the real world, no matter how much we want them to be. However, not every piece of technology we see in classic sci-fis is a work of fiction and now and again they actually become real with the movie or show successfully predicting the future.

In this video we are going to take a look at ten pieces of technology that first made their appearance in a sci-fi movie or television series and how they managed to influence the modern world. From holograms and bionic arms in the Star Wars franchise, military drones in Terminator, cell phones in Star Trek, digital billboards in Blade Runner, basically everything in 2001 except for stargates, space babies and a killer computer named HAL, driverless cars in Total Recall, a number of gadgets in Back to the Future II, Virtual Reality in The Matrix, smart watches in The Jetsons, to a number of different pieces of tech seen in Minority Report. This is 10 times that movies and TV shows successfully predicted the future (sort of).

What did you make of this video? Any we missed? What piece of tech would you like to see become real? Let us know in the comments below and make sure to subscribe to the channel today for all this and more!
