Over the years, we’ve seen some incredible advancements in special effects but unfortunately they’re not enough to save a truly bad movie. Today we’re going to be looking at some films where the CGI used was actually better than the scenes themselves. Nicholas Cage insists those were his real abs in Ghost Rider, but some movie magic was needed to cover up a part of his body. Even Sam Raimi wasn’t a fan of Spider-Man 3, but a ton of work went into making Sandman look top notch. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets didn’t impress at the box office yet audiences were wowed by the work that went into it. Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace might not be the best entry in the franchise, but everything from the pod racing scene to everyone’s favorite character Jar Jar Binks looked good, at least. Jupiter Ascending was a campy flick with insane visuals, while the way Davy Jones was portrayed in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest still holds up to this day.

Do you believe any of these films aren’t quite as bad as everyone else seems to think? Don’t worry, we won’t judge! Let us know if you love any of these flicks, or if you think there’s any other films we should have included.
