Nickelodeon is without a doubt, one of the most influential channels in history. Many of the programs have been well received but more importantly, they’re fondly remembered. While many of these shows, both old and new are remembered, you may not recall these changes that hit the shows throughout the seasons. Some of them are cosmetic changes, such as the animation of the show changing as the years went on. Shows like Fairly Odd Parents, Hey Arnold and Rocko’s Modern Life fall into this category, which the latter also updating its jokes and satire to fit into the twenty-first century as it has a revival on the way. In fact, many shows have revivals on the way or in progress, such as the Rugrats, who have another season and another film due in the coming years. But with the Rugrats’ past, there was a tiny change to one character’s animation that lasted years before changing...and then changing back! Oh Phil. Paw Patrol is one of the most popular shows on TV right now for kids, but the amount of actors that get changed behind the scenes is actually staggering. All That was a SNL inspired skit show that actually came back from a hiatus with a completely different cast! iCarly, another hit sitcom inspired show on Nickelodeon, stealthily changed one of their supporting recurring characters to a lead role in the fourth season. Doug underwent massive changes as it moved away from Nickelodeon, where it helped launch the channel, to Disney in 1996. The there’s the granddaddy of them all, with Spongebob Squarepants taking on a different tone and style in it’s later years compared to its earlier three seasons.
