If you can recall back to your childhood to a simpler time, you may agree that one of our favorite past times as kids was watching our favorite cartoons and shows. Most of the time our parents monitored what we watched, but other times there were shows that were assumed safe. But even then, there were some subtle messages and innuendos that slipped through the cracks. The amount of messages in these cartoons is actually astounding. For instance, Rugrats has a ton of them. One of them being that Grandpa goes to the video store and rents movies for the kids and an adult video for himself called Lonely Space Vixens.
In Rocko’s Modern Life, we also see that one of the odd jobs he takes is that of a phone sex operator. He has an awkward encounter with Mrs. Bighead needless to say. There is also a hilarious reference to being an accident on the Powerpuff girls. And of course there is Dexter’s Lab and Dad’s Trophy.
