15 Meta Movie Moments You Completely Missed

As you know, there are a number of films that like to make cheeky references and insert subtle easter eggs and it is becoming increasingly prevalent in the industry. Whether it be sly jokes that make reference to the film’s actor, storyline, or franchise or making hilarious pop culture references in general, we are seeing movies interact with the audience directly (and sometimes even create a paradox) more and more.

In this video we are going to look at 15 times filmmakers and movies added a subversive moment in their film that you might have not noticed. From some scene foreshadowing the whole movie in a joke early on, the Avengers making a reference to a movie involving one of their biggest actors, the meeting of numerous Disney characters and titles hidden in the background, gags at the expense of typical story tropes and beats, hilarious jokes at the expense of other works in the franchise, jokes that almost cross the copyright barrier, film literally breaking through the screen and talking to the audience themselves, merchandising references and gags towards major landmarks, a movie hidden within a movie, to jokes that were only in the films due to budget constraints.
