Scarlett Johansson is one of the rare examples of a child performer who has got *more* together as she’s got older, rather than the opposite. Maybe that’s because while she put in some respectable and well-received performances as a kid, her proper breakout roles didn’t come until she was an older teenager - being catapulted into the limelight as a preschooler isn’t necessarily great for your perception of yourself.

At any rate, she is now one of the most in-demand and highest grossing actresses in the world - in fact, she was the world’s highest paid actress in 2018 and 2019 - headlining sci-fi action movies left right and center, including the bonkers Lucy, the flawed but interesting Ghost in the Shell remake and a little movie called Black Widow. You might have heard of it, it’s part of Disney’s Marvel’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s the first solo outing for Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, and it will be with us imminently.

Of course, ScarJo’s career doesn’t merely consist of superspy action shenanigans like The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. She started acting when she was a child, and she’s had a hugely varied career with a long list of roles. Some of those movies stick in the memory, and inevitably some of them either fall by the wayside or are quietly forgotten about.
