Every once in a while one of those shows comes around that you know will change the world. Increasingly, over the last ten years, those once-in-a-blue-moon series have been falling into the superhero genre, so maybe it’s no surprise that Netflix’s adaptation of the superb Image comics original Jupiter’s Legacy has been looked forward to for quite some time. Unfortunately the eight episode long first season (which follows the family struggles of Utopian, Lady Liberty, Chloe & Brandon Sampson and Uncle Brainwave as they attempt to manage the transition between the first generation old guard superheroes and the new blood) is an ill-paced disappointment.
Sure the acting is great and so are the costumes, but immediately in the first episode fans of the comics will start to notice the problems heaping up: changes made to the original story, the omission of certain key deaths, and other haphazard decisions leave the season feeling like a breath of recycled air. So, like an air-freshener in this bad metaphor, we’re coming at you with a breakdown of some of the most head scratching, frustrating problems and plot holes in Jupiter’s Legacy. Whether you’re a newcomer to the series, an entrenched fan since the beginning, or even just a Josh Duhamel fan, there’s something for everyone to get annoyed about. Just remember: if you cuss at all-- even once-- while watching this video, Utopian is going to find you and give you a stern talking to.
