While we all wish we could be like Benjamin Button, having our most hideous years at the start of our lives, we all unfortunately age. Some people like Keanu Reeves and Paul Rudd have been graced with immaculate genetics which have given them an almost vampire-esque complexion, but that’s not always the case in Hollywood.

Instead of just casting younger actors in flashback scenes, a recent Hollywood trend has been employing digital de-aging alterations to really sell the effect that it’s the same character. While the original go around with the effect was almost nightmare inducing in X:Men The Last Stand, we have since seen some phenomenal attempts done on some of Hollywood’s heavy weights like Will Smith and Robert Downey Jr. Even Kurt Russell got the effect in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, transforming him to the same age of his real life child Wyatt Russell in Falcon and The Winter Soldier, technology is crazy man.

So how is VFX wizardry even done? Does the effect always go off without a hitch? Is it only blockbuster franchises like Star Wars and The Marvel Cinematic Universe that are able to afford this sort of computer generated imagery? Luckily, all these questions are answered in the video! So let’s get to watching it, shall we?
