Sometimes, we just want to go and see a movie that has absolutely nothing to do with real life. That’s where fantasy comes in, and there is nothing we like more than to be swept off our feet and taken to a galaxy far far away. But other times, it can be just as fascinating to watch a movie that is based on real life, even if those real life experiences are so completely different from our own, and seem like works of improbable fiction. There are so many movies out there that are so larger-than-life, that it seems impossible that they could possibly have really happened, and yet, they did! From stories of people getting away with crazy crimes like Catch Me If You Can, Hustlers, American Hustle, and Goodfellas, to movies about heroic everyday people like Harriet and Schindler’s List. There are movies like Almost Famous, Party Monster, and The Bling Ring that transport us into the lives of the rich, famous, and totally messed up, and movies like The Rider that bring us into a seemingly normal world that is actually filled with magic and beauty. And of course, there are tons and tons of movies about true crimes that happened right in our back doors. From Zodiac to Unbelievable to Lost Girls and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, we just can’t seem to get enough of these almost too true crimes. There are so many more movies that you won’t believe are based on real events, so check out the video to get all of the wildest details.
