The Lego Movie 2 is out and we can’t get that catchy song out of our heads. But despite that and how fun the movie was, we kept our eyes open for the mountain of Easter eggs and references that can be found in this movie. Some of them are easier to spot, like all the fun and amazing cameos from other films in the movie. These include members of the Justice League, including Jason Momoa reprising his role as Aquaman. Some of the cameos are harder to notice, including one from Chris Miller and Lego Batman director Chris McKay. Moss from the IT Crowd also lends his voic as an Ice Cream Cone while Orville Forte gets to play Lincoln once voice more.Chris Pratt gets to play Rex Dangervest, an amalgamation of Pratt’s more successful roles. His raptors are also based off of iconic 80s action movies. The film opens with references to the acclaimed film Mad Max Fury Road while Bruce Willis reprises his Die Hard character, John McLane. The movie gets to make fun of Twilight and even gets to put references inside references when it comes to the “Stairgate”. There a bunch of time travelling references, including callouts to Back to the Future, Terminator, Dr. Who and even Hot Tub Time Machine. Since this is a DC and Warner Bros movie, the writers get to take a shot at Marvel being a no show. It also wouldn’t be an apocalyptic setting without a reference to the Statue of Liberty, much like Planet of the Apes. There’s even a Scooby Doo reference that ties back to the crew of the movie!
