The fantasy genre is bigger today than it's probably ever been.
With shows like Game of Thrones and The Witcher capturing audiences' imaginations, despite the former having left fans with a bad taste in their mouths after that final season.
And heck, Dungeons and Dragons is incredibly popular today, only becoming more so by the minute due to the rise of live streamed games such as those done by Critical Role. Love those guys.
So, naturally, Disney and Pixar have moved in to capitalize on the genre’s rise in popularity, with the latest film, Onward.
Onward gives us a look at a fantasy world that's a bit different from what we are used to, in that it is significantly more modernized. And it does a much better job with the concept than some other films...like that one on Netflix.
Anyways, with a world that has such a deep history as the one we see in Onward, and such a major connection to a specific genre, you wouldn’t be wrong to expect a slew of different easter eggs and references. And in this video, we are going to talk about a handful of these little details that you might not have seen while you were busy enjoying the story of two kids trying to reunite with their dead dad via magical means.
So come along with me as I lead you on an adventure through the fantastical world of Onward.
Roll for initiative!
