25 Things You Missed In Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins
Description
Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins just released with the Crazy Rich Asians, Last Christmas, The Gentlemen, A Simple Favor star Henry Golding as the titular ninja along with Andrew Koji from HBO’s Warrior as the villain Storm Shadow from the famous Real American Hero cartoon and the Marvel comic series that saw the Joe and the COBRA agent fighting against each other with swords, fists, guns and anything else they could get their hands on. The story takes us all the way to the beginning as we see the origin of his nickname, his katana, his helmet, and his journey of redemption. This being a franchise-starter akin to how Iron Man sparked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe until the MCU was able to launch full blown Avengers movies, it was full of easter eggs, references, and hints about the future of the franchise which will include Amazon Prime’s Lady Jaye movie to fit alongside the likes of The Boys, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Invincible in their impressive lineup of streaming shows.
The Hasbro inspired property clearly took inspiration from the Transformers reboot attempt known as Bumblebee by trying to center the ensemble piece around one fan favorite character. The film also included the Baroness and Scarlett but left Cobra Commander, Destro, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Roadblock and Channing Tatum’s Duke out of the proceedings this time until they figure out how to properly reestablish those characters.
So what all did you miss from the latest high speed blockbuster? Let’s find out! Don’t forget to like, subscribe and share for more from Screen Rant!
