Yeah yeah yeah, we know he’s Iron Guy or whatever his name is— with all the times he said so, from the OG Marvel Cinematic Universe joint to his big finale in Avengers Endgame, RDJ will always be the Iron Dude in the memories of millions — billions? — of people. But dude had a whole bunch of parts before he donned the world’s most advanced suit of armor, and that’s what we’re here to talk about today, specifically in regards to those parts which may have skirted by without you noticing, or which you just plumb don’t remember off the top of your head. Sure, you all remember his early work in Weird Science and his captivating turn in Zodiac, and you definitely remember whatever he was doing in Dolittle. However, beyond his most famous acting turns are some which you may have missed. Between his childhood debut in his dad’s weirdo art film Pound to portraying the hairiest dude around in Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus, there are so many films to delve into. Well, there’s also The Shaggy Dog with Tim Allen, which I actually wouldn’t recommend ‘cause well… it’s exactly what it sounds like. Did you forget that he starred alongside Zach Galifianakis in Due Date? Or that he portrayed a struggling addict in Less Than Zero, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis? Ooooh, how about the one in which he played one of the most legendary actors of all time — and specifically the silent film era — Charlie with the ‘stache? His career has spanned decades, so it shouldn’t be surprising that there’s so much to discover.
