Welcome back, ScreenRanters! No Hollywood actor immediately starts at the top of the industry. It takes years, sometimes decades for those performers to rise to the tippy-top and receive all the cash and awards they want. They might have bit parts in TV shows and films for a very long time before they secure a main role. Sometimes, those actors might not even get a speaking part for ages. Today, we’re going to look at the actors that were extras before becoming a household name! The unsung heroes of the industry, extras are vital. Just imagine the Walking Dead with no extras to perform as zombies! Not quite as fun/scary.
Now, for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. We kick-off with a look at Brad Pitt and the load of non-speaking roles he started out with. Then, we have Megan Fox and her controversial start in the industry. There’s the small role that Viola Davis got long before the Suicide Squad came calling. We have Leonardo DiCaprio and his extra role as a student on a sit-com. There’s Renee Zellweger and her double extra job in a Richard Linklater film. We have Marvel’s The Wasp, Evangeline Lilly, making a name for herself in Disney and DC projects. There’s Star Wars’ Harrison Ford and his humble beginnings back in the 60s. Before he was dancing provocatively, we have Channing Tatum dealing with aliens. There’s Jackie Chan and his connection to the legendary Bruce Lee. Finally, we’ll examine Donald Glover’s start as an extra before graduating as a writer on the same show!
