We hope that Spider-Man will face off against the MCU's authorized iterations of the Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus in his next trilogy. Marvel Studios needs to introduce fresh interpretations of these characters to distinguish them from the memorable portrayals by Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina. While Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius should be sidestepped in the MCU going forward due to the challenge of surpassing Dafoe and Molina's performances, there are numerous other characters who have assumed these identities throughout Marvel's history.
