Creed & Rocky: Timeline Explained

With the release of Creed III there will be the same amount of movies in the Rocky movie universe as there are about the Skywalkers and a family of racers from Echo Park who became international car based super spies. The world's most enduring symbol of the triumph of the underdog made it all the way to six sequels before the story picked up with Apollo Creed’s unknown son Adonis Creed following in his father’s footsteps with the help of Rocky himself. It’s not the first time Rocky has tried to fill Mickey’s shoes by taking on a boxer, but that boxer with the impossible name of Tommy “The Machine” Gunn ended up going south ending in a street brawl. As the ninth installment readies itself to hit theaters, let's go back through the timeline from Apollo to Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, Union Crane, and Mason “The Line” Dixon. The key to being a good boxer in the Rocky universe is an impossibly strange name. We’ll go over all of Rocky’s falls and all the times he got back up.
