If there’s one thing Disney is well and truly good at (other than you know, dominating the box office) it’s making an uplifting, colourful, heartwarming, funny animated family friendly flick with usually an anthropomorphic animal in there too for good measure. The latest movie from House of Mouse, “Encanto”, which is set to be released later on this year, promises very much to be more of the same, with the trailer showcasing that this movie has all the trademarks of a typical Disney classic. However, while it may have the familiar blend of fantasy, magic, heart and humor, Encanto will also differ from any movie that has come before it and it’s Colombian setting promises to be a truly unique backdrop for the movie. Also, while some of Disney’s more recent movies have stepped away from throwing in the big musical numbers, Encanto will be a return to the studio’s roots, with a true musical legend being brought into work on the movie’s score, and create 8 original songs (in both Spanish and English) for this film alone.
