We can’t think of a character better than Doctor Strange to introduce the concept of the Multiverse to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. And the most exciting thing about getting involved in the Multiverse is the fact that we’ll get to see alternate versions of characters we’ve come to know and love through the years. There are so many possibilities for which characters might return after long absences as well as what this could mean for the future of the MCU.

Think about all the different characters who could come back from the dead, like Black Widow, or maybe even Iron Man. With Sam Raimi in talks to direct, how cool would it be if we got to see Tobey Maguire reprise his role as everyone’s favorite web slinger in an alternate New York City? And could we see a version of Bucky Barnes that ended up taking on the mantle of Captain America?

There’s also the fact that Scarlet Witch has been confirmed as making an appearance in the film. The MCU has only begun to scratch the surface of her incredible abilities. There’s a strong chance her involvement could tie into the WandaVision Disney+ series. And even more exciting? What if by having Scarlet Witch involved in the Multiverse, Marvel Studios is teasing a potential ‘House of M’ movie down the line?

The Multiverse opens the doors for so many exciting possibilities in the MCU. There’s no doubt the MCU is about to get a whole lot weidrer in the best possible way. Let’s explore some of the most interesting rumors and theories.
