The movie named after a sandy mound of rocks was always going to be hard to adapt to the screen, I mean it’s already had a couple attempts and none were really great or even good for that matter but Denis Villeneuve hopes to change that with his version but even his take isn’t a one to one adaptation. So let’s look at all the differences between the OG novel and the movie and of course there’s going to be a crazy amount of spoilers, like duh the movie just came out. Dune 2021, is a lot of things but an entirely faithful adaptation it is not. That’s not even a bad thing either, I think it’s an interesting version and looking toward the future, I think it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Part 2. There’s also some other things I didn’t mention like outfits being changed too but like are you really that interested in the movie version of Jamis and Paul having more clothes, Greg? Come on man, you can’t be that much of a purist… Oh I forgot that I’m talking to the comment section, you love to be aggressive and confrontational. My bad.
For those who aren’t aggressive on the internet for no reason, comment down below on what you think the best changes were or if you really are a purist, write a dissertation on why adaptations should always be the exact same as the source material, for some reason.
