Eternals: How Each Character Is Supposed To Look
Description
There’s a new instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe comin’ right on up — must be Wednesday! This one is a bit different though… instead of ramping up to a big team up movie, the Disney-owned juggernaut of comic book adaptations is putting a team together that can only exist, well, together. These titans of immortal Deviant butt kickin’ are: Kingo, Ikaris, Phastos, Ajack, Thena, Sersi, Gilgamesh, Makkari, Sprite, Druig, and Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight (wielder of the Ebony Blade!). Their grouping does come with one major challenge: what to do about their outfits! While the Black Knight (as portrayed by Kitt Harrington) is almost definitely not going to show up full armor, that’s basically the only mystery we have left, since the marketing has given us a glimpse at what these heroes will look like, and it’s very uniform! The costuming has veered sharply away from the more diverse outfits of the comic books and instead gone with something more closely resembling a, well, uniform. Some, like Druig, are pretty close to certain interpretations of the character, while others have been gender swapped and relieved of their more outrageous qualities.
One major example of changes is Kingo. When he’s not in full Bollywood mode he’s got a pretty sophisticated purple and black tunic thing with armoured shoulders and chestplate. In the comics, he’s more like a Technicolor Errol Flynn samurai. He’s also much more into swordplay, although just like in the movie he is able to control energy, giving him the ability to go pew pew with his fingers. Like his fellow Eternals, he also has increased strength and the ability to fly, which we’ll presumably see as well.
