You asked for it. You petitioned and tweeted and hashtagged and made baleful supplication to the Elder Gods of the DCEU, and now your prayers have been answered - the four-hour, never-before-seen original vision of Zack Snyder is coming to HBO Max imminently.
It’s widely known at this point that the majority of what Snyder originally shot for Justice League was not used in the version that made it to cinemas, so this is a big deal - this is not just a re-edit of stuff we’ve already seen, this is a wholly unique vision standing apart from the much derided cinematic version. It’s an unprecedented situation, and naturally fans and casual viewers alike are fascinated to know how different things will be. What will Batman’s arc look like? And what of Wonder Woman? And is that Superman’s black suit?
And … is that Jared Leto? As the Joker?
And did he actually just say ‘we live in a society’? Like in the internet meme?
The appearance of Leto’s much maligned incarnation of the Clown Prince of Crime is blowing minds left, right and center - not only is he coming off a pretty much universally unpopular incarnation (RIP Suicide Squad), but it looks like Snyder has made a number of key changes to the character, at every level.
In this video, we run them down - and ask what they could mean. This is every change Snyder’s Justice League Cut made to Joker.
