Description

A ranking of every M. Night Shyamalan movie ranked worst to best might seem a bit obvious - it might be more accurate to say what’s the worst M. Night Shyamalan movie ever? There’s so many bad M Night movies - can we even say what is the worst M. Night movie? Obviously the best two M Night films are Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, and you can debate the merits of each one. What sometimes gets lost is that if you know the twist going into The Sixth Sense, it doesn’t work as well. It does have rewatch qualities with the twist, but straight up knowing Sixth Sense twist ruins the first watch.

Sometimes, M. Night ruins the first watch ability on his own. The Last Airbender was really bad. The Happening was awful. After Earth sunk Jaden Smith’s career - although Jaden Smith kinda sunk it on his own merit. Lady In The Water was boring. It’s hard to really quantify which is truly the worst M Night film. The Last Airbender doesn’t work on so many levels, from the poor pacing to the even poorer special effects. The Happening is laughable - the story of trees and wind making people go crazy somehow works in the Netflix movie but is terrible in The Happening. Bird Box v The Happening has a clear winner - and it’s not M. Night. M Night had a very bad run of movies, but with Split and Glass he seems to have turned things around. We’re hoping that the old M. Night Shyamalan will return to form and give us great movies again.
