Every Time Pixar Teased A Future Film
Description
Join Us As We Head Back Down The Rabbit Hole!
You know it, we know it and they know it - companies like Disney and Pixar are run by geeks. And like any self-respecting geeks, they love to be all self-referential. Ever since they first started putting out CGI shorts in the 1980s, with the likes of Luxo Jr. and Tin Toy - featuring the world’s most terrifying baby - these computer geniuses have enjoyed sneaking in little hints and easter eggs. And by the time they got to Toy Story 2, they started a fun tradition - each new picture would include a sly little reference to whatever was coming next.
So the second adventure for Woody, Buzz and pals hinted at Monsters. Inc, which then connected to Finding Nemo. That fishy tale gave us a taste of both The Incredibles and Cars. And so on, through Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Brave, Monsters University, The Good Dinosaur, Finding Dory, Inside Out, Cars 3, Coco, Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4, all the way up to the most recent tear-jerking installments of the canon, like Onward, Soul, Luca and Turning Red.
That’s some attention to detail! And the new movie, featuring Mei and her red panda transformation, is no different, with a delicious little Lightyear easter egg. Those Pixar details! But don’t worry if you didn’t catch them all - that’s what Screen Rant is here for. It’s even what ScreenRant is here for.
So buckle up and relax - if that’s not a contradiction - as we take you through a rollercoaster of sneaky details you missed…
