Buzz Lightyear is one of the beloved creations Pixar has ever brought to the big screen, but now they’re about to take him on a brand new adventure! Yes a Buzz Lightyear movie is in the works at Pixar and will be released in Summer of 2022, but it’s not quite what you expect. When you hear the phrase “Buzz Lightyear movie” you think it’s going to be a Toy Story spinoff following the Buzz we’ve gotten to know over the last 25 years, but that isn’t the case. The new Lightyear movie follows a human Buzz Lightyear as he transitions from a lowly test pilot to one of the most famous Space Rangers of all time! It’s going to be an epic sci-fi space adventure unlike anything we’ve ever seen from Pixar!

But what exactly do we know about the highly anticipated movie? Well, the biggest piece of news is that none other than Captain America will be voicing Buzz! That’s right, Chris Evans will be stepping into those space ranger shoes, sorry for Tim Allen fans out there! We also know that the director has a long history with Pixar and not only directed Finding Dory, but also multiple Pixar shorts dating back to the late 90s!
