Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes have their hands full over on Disney Plus. Not only are they both still dealing with past trauma, the retirement of their idol and the question of who, if either of them, deserve to take up his legacy; They also have to deal with a pair of government-sanctioned Captain America knockoffs while fighting a terrorist organization called The Flag Smashers, and are about to reconnect with Baron Zemo, who once pitted the entire Avengers team against itself.
And just to complicate matters further, Episode 2 now reveals the involvement of a third villain - the Power Broker. And true to Marvel, the Power Broker is not some random addition that the show came up with on its own. There is indeed a Power Broker in the comics, and one that has strong ties to the Captain America family as a whole, especially to John Walker, with whom he shares quite a bit of history. But there is more to the name “Power Broker” than just one character and one grudge, as the comics have featured two villains going by that name with a similar modus operandi.
So who are these mysterious Power Brokers? How do they fit into the Captain America mythos, and who will Marvel draw the most inspiration from when it comes to the story of Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Well, we’re here to do our very best to break it all down for you.
