Time and time again, Hermione Granger has been referred to as the brightest witch of her age. And for good reason. Her superior intellect and knowledge has played a large part in helping Harry defeat Voldemort. While Ron Weasley has never been considered the smartest member of the trio, his involvement has been crucial to their success as well. So much of his experience comes from the fact that he grew up in the wizarding world, lending him a unique perspective on everything. While Hermione might be able to read about it in a book, Ron’s real-world experience was crucial to the trio’s success.

Ron’s impeccable chess skills helped the trio prevent Voldemort from stealing the Sorcerer’s Stone. It’s also his hilarious comment that reminds Hermione she can defeat the Devil’s Snare even if she doesn’t have any wood to create a fire. Ron is also the one who took action and saved Harry from his aunt and uncle in ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.’ He’s also the one who stops Harry from leaving and going off to find the Horcruxes on his own in ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.’ He’s also the one who gets the smart idea to use Basilisk fangs to destroy Voldemort’s Horcruxes.

With these examples it becomes clear that Ron has had his moments to shine and has proved, at times, even smarter than Hermione. (Even if these instances are rare) Let’s take a look at all of them and appreciate all the reasons why Weasley is our king.
