How Spider-Man Changed The World
Description
Everyone has that show that they watched obsessively as a child. Every time it was on, you’d watch it. For some, that show was Power Rangers, Batman the Animated Series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, any number of different kid’s shows.
For me, it was hands down the 90s Spider-Man show. I still hear that killer theme song pretty much every time I try to go to bed at night.
Heck, when I was seven, my mom made me a homemade Spider-Man costume out of some sweat pants and a ski-mask. A costume that would become my favorite outfit even outside of the spooky season, at least until I outgrew it.
So you can imagine that I was pretty excited when May 3rd, 2002 rolled around, and the first Spider-Man film hit the big screen. Twelve year old me ate it up, but little did I know just how big a deal this movie was, and how much of an impact it would have on the comic book film industry as a whole.
But then again, that has kinda been the case with the ol’ webhead pretty much since his inception. But how has Peter Parker gone from being just another comic character created by a fledgling publishing house to one of the most profitable bits of intellectual property ever?
Well, the story begins with a man named Stan, and his buddy Steve.
