How WandaVision's Finale Set Up Two New Villains

WandaVision took the world by storm and immediately sent fans theorizing in all different directions about what was going to happen next. One of the most predominant theories for the show was that Mephisto was going to show up at the end and be the ultimate Big Bad. But of course, that didn’t happen and instead Wanda had a one-on-one battle with Agnes aka Agatha Harkness. And although the show may not have teased any new and exciting things for the MCU like fans expected, it still did manage to lay the groundwork for two big villains. These baddies, if used correctly, could be terrifying new threats and rival Thanos in terms of the MCU’s best villain.

First up is Chthon, the primordial god of chaos. Although there wasn’t a specific reference to him, in the comics, he was not only the one who wrote the Darkhold, which is the spooky book that Wanda is now studying, but also was the one who bestowed chaos magic to Wanda in the first place. With Wanda studying the Darkhold so much, it would make sense for Chthon to make an appearance. And then, of course the biggest tease was that Wanda’s kids, Billy and Tommy, are still alive and calling for help. But where are they? The leading theory is that they’re currently trapped in the Dream Dimension, which is run by Nightmare, another primordial being. Could WandaVision be setting up a trip to this dimension where Wanda and potentially Doctor Strange have to fight Nightmare to rescue her children? That sounds awesome doesn’t it?
