Welcome back, ScreenRanters! Since 1987, Adam Sandler has been gracing both our big and little screens. Primarily a comedy actor, he’s also branched out on occasion to other genres such as Reign Over Me, Uncut Gems, and Punch-Drunk Love. Well, throughout his career, the Sand-Man could have broken the mold more so with some of the roles that were offered his way. Today, we’re going to look at some of the most iconic films that Sandler was almost cast in!

Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we’ll look at Marvel and Sandler’s involvement. In particular to the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy team. Even more particular, it involves everyone’s favorite furry tough cookie, Rocket Raccoon. Next, we have 2004’s Collateral. We’ll see how different Jamie Foxx’s character was in the original draft and why it suited Sandler at the time. For the 2005 reboot of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, we have Johnny Depp’s role of Willy Wonka on the table. We’ll also see that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was in consideration for the part as well! We then have another Tom Cruise film. This time, 2010’s Knight And Day. We’ll see the reason for why Sandler declined the role. Finally, we have Inglourious Basterds. One part was actually written for Sandler by Quentin Tarantino. However, due to other film commitments, we never saw Sandler positioned as a certain baseball bat wielding character.
