Marvel: US Agent Could Serve as HYDRA's Captain America

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier just ended its spectacular first season with the reveal that we have a Captain America who is truly worthy of the mantle Steve Rogers left behind in Avengers: Endgame. While every Marvel fan out there got chills the first time Sam busted through that window in his bright red, white and blue costume, the show gave us the opposite feeling when it revealed the other Captain America John Walker. From the very beginning it was clear that Walker was not going to be an easy character to pin down. In some moments he appeared to be a genuinely good guy who only wanted to be the best Captain America he could be. Then he would blow up in a surge of anger that would hint that maaaaybe there was something dark hidden behind that star spangled costume he was sporting. This all came to a head when he brutally attacked an unarmed Flag Smasher and got himself fired.

Turns out this was just the beginning of his story though. The show ended with John rebranded as the US Agent working under Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, AKA Madame HYDRA. This makes it clear that his days as the new Cap’s biggest rival are just beginning. It’s likely that his time as US Agent will just further his corruption until he becomes the supervillain that blood-stained shield hinted at. Could this even lead to him taking the darkest Captain America mantle from Marvel comics, Captain HYDRA?
