You’d probably have an easier time navigating the Six Realms than you would trying to decipher the lore of Mortal Kombat. Spanning the course of over a dozen video games, hundreds of Kombatants, a handful of factions, multiple comic series and two separate timelines leads to a pretty convoluted story.- and that’s before fitting in how the likes of guest Kombatants like The Terminator, Joker, and Jason Vorhees all fit in. Lore that’s maybe a little too confusing for those just wanting to watch two ninjas brutally cause some long term lung damage. While we have seen the journey of some Mortal Kombat greats on screen like Johnny Cage, Scorpion and Subzero; there is still a large roster of Kombatants who have yet to make the transition onto the big screen who will be debuting in the upcoming Mortal Kombat film which will be both in theatres and on HBO Max.

With the trailer for the film showcasing everyone's least favorite Australian drunk Kano and a quick tease of Kabal, speculation is already beginning for the formation of The Black Dragon Clan .The clan may not be as powerful as the God Like White Lotus which houses Raiden and Liu Kang, but they are essential in the racketeering necessary for emperors like Shao Kahn and Kotal Kahn to continue their ruling.

With how faithful the designs from the games have been adapted so far in the trailer, and with the action being that gratuitous, we are really hopeful that this is just the start of the invasion of Mortal Kombat films on our Earth Realm, hopefully as the films continue on we get more teases into other factions like the Lin Kuei and The Brotherhood Of Shadow
