Since the “Joker” movie was the first R-Rated movie to take in a billion dollars at the box office, and was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, it’s safe to say it was a hit! But could it have been even better? Kevin Smith revealed that there was an alternate ending which would have changed the entire story of Arthur Fleck we saw play out during the film. Director Todd Phillips claims that he’s not a fan of deleted scenes, so don’t expect to see it any time soon! But it would have put a very different twist on the moment Thomas Wayne and his wife Martha found themselves leaving the movie theater. Not only would this have changed the story for the Clown Prince of crime, but for Bruce Wayne as well. This potential storyline switch changes everything and we’ll talk about why that is and which version matched better with Joaquin Phoenix’s version of the character. We’ll also reveal a “Citizen Kane” Easter egg you might have missed the first time around and why it was such an important component of the film’s conclusion.

What do you think about the way this film nearly wrapped up its story? Do you think they should have gone with the second version or are you happy with the way things played out on the big screen?
