Popular Animated Movies That Aren't For Kids
Description
These Animated Movies Were NOT Made For Kids
So what do The Beatles, Seth Rogen, and Walt Disney all share in common?
They’ve all created cartoon works that aren’t exactly appropriate for the entire family. We’re talking about some pretty crazy imagery that seems like it all spawned from a mad tea party. The medium of animation typically leads way to something like Minions; bright and colorful works that instantly intrigue younger viewers. Adults typically have to slug through pictures like this just so they can keep their children quiet for two hours. There’s also the occasional masterpiece like Shrek or Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse that manages to capture the imagination of all ages.
But what happens when something a little more mature is being adapted to the medium? Take for instance The Matrix franchise. To capitalize off of the Keanu Reeves classic all sorts of spinoffs were released, including one pretty snazzy anime prequel that we’ll talk about here.
There is a whole slew of creative geniuses that have ended up working with the art form including Tim Burton, Katsuhiro Otomo, Robert Zemeckis, Matt Stone and Trey Parker using all sorts of animation techniques such as Stop Motion, Paper Cut Outs, Computer Generated Imagery, and Motion Capture.
Get ready as we dive into the art of Van Gogh, travel to the neon lit streets of Neo Tokyo, and even fall through the looking glass as we examine the various ways the traditionally kid friendly form of children's entertainment have been adjusted to appeal to a more mature demographic.
