Reminiscence: 25 Things You Missed

The latest project from the Westworld creator Lisa Joy has made quite a stir in Hollywood. It stars the X-Men, Greatest Showman, Les Miserables, Australia, The Prestige, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Wolverine, Logan and Days of Future Past star...Come on. We don’t even have to say his name, you knew who we meant the second we said Wolverine. The second star is most known for Doctor Sleep, Dune, Life, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Mission Impossible: Fallout and Men In Black International. They are joined by the likes of Cliff Curtis, Thandiwe Newton and Daniel Wu.

The film is all about the nature of memory. In a near future where everyone is miserable in their personal lives, they all look to the past. The titular technology allows them to fully relive any memory that they choose in complete perfection. Many find this addictive while the main character often uses it to help law enforcement make arrests or convictions. This leads to a mystery along the lines of other classic film noir projects. It sends the characters across several different cities in the near future like the sunken Miami that resembles Venice and the relatively similar New Orleans.

This was a much sought after project that had a bidding war for its script and provided a huge opportunity for its director. It has a wonderful story behind the story that may be more interesting than the screenplay itself. I guess you will have to watch to really find out.
