So who exactly is Sheev Palpatine? While much has been said here and there in the Expanded Universe about our dearly departed evil Sith leader, not much was divulged about him in the films. Sure, we always knew he wanted to crush the Jedi, the Rebel Alliance and all other opposition in one (or several) swift stroke(s), we don’t necessarily know the true nature of his incredibly detailed plots. Nor do we fully know why he has so much hate under that shady, dark hood. The point is, Darth Sidious still has some tricks up his flowing sleeves and we here at ScreenRant mean to uncover just what the final details of plot might be in this final installment of the Skywalker saga.

While some might think that the re-emergence of the powerful Sith lord is a sign that Lucasfilm has run out of ideas, we here at ScreenRant have a new hope… or at least a renewed hope that JJ Abrams and co. will be able to tie it all together in one movie. The best chance for Episode 9 to go down without a hitch is for the Emperor to be firmly connected to the new cast of characters. And there’s no more likely way for this to happen than for Palpatine to steal the Knights of Ren from Kylo. How else can he consolidate his power? How else can he wage his final battle against the last of the Jedi? How else can Snoke, the First Order, and the rest of neo-Imperial forces be connected to the old Sith Lord, long thought to be deceased? Join ScreenRant as we unload some proton truth-torpedoes and blow your minds like a small thermal exhaust port right below a main port.
