While the History of Magic may be a boring subject for the students of Professor Binns’ class, the history of the wizarding world is one that’s long, complicated, and incredibly interesting! From the day that Hogwarts was created to Newt and his Niffler adventures against Grindelwald and even Tom Riddle’s birth, a lot had to happen to make our main guy the ‘Chosen One’. Heck, a lot had to happen to have Lily and James Potter marry - namely, James had to learn to calm down some and stop showing off his quidditch skills using that little snitch he stole.

But, thanks to Albus Dumbeldore’s cunning, Severus Snape’s love-that's-borderline-obsession, and Sybill Trelawney’s prophecy, everything managed to unfold perfectly, allowing the events of the seven books (and 8 movies!) to happen just as we know and love it.
Sure, some of these events aren’t great and were tragic (I mean, Moaning Myrtle died all because Salazar Slytherin couldn’t get along with Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Godric Gryffindor long enough to think that maybe Muggleborns aren’t so bad after all. And Ariana wouldn’t have had to die if her family just learned how to communicate properly) but it was all necessary to lead the Dark Lord to Godric's Hollow on that fateful Halloween night.

And here they are - at least, the key elements. If we went into every small detail (like Sirius Black’s childhood or Remus Lupin’s parents) we’d be here forever! So, instead, let’s focus on the lives of Dumbledore, Grindelwald, Hogwarts, and the journey of the Marauder’s to see how all the key players in the prophecy came to be at the giant chessboard.
