The Umbrella Academy: Every Sparrow's Power Explained
Description
Being a superhero generally requires that the superhero have a tragic or complicated relationship with their parents, most often the father or father figure. For the Umbrella Academy Sir Reginald Hargreeves has taken the troubled father figure relationship ball and runs with it, including going out and getting alternative children when his first set of adopted children turn out to be a disappointment. Of course that’s possible because his first set of kids prevented an apocalypse they were kinda responsible for only to send themselves scattershot into the past to not only cause and therefore prevent another apocalypse but set off a third apocalypse via a paradox that occurs thanks to their time traveling antics. It’s apocalypses all the way down. Sir Reginald’s alternatives have some advantages over the first round picks. All seven of them make it all the way to adulthood while the Umbrellas lost Ben at an early age. They don’t have a member that is both very sullen and very prone to exploding with enough power to apparently end everything. Perhaps most importantly, it appears they have not had to prevent their own apocalypses three times in a row. The new members minus Ben bring with them their own set of powers that, unlike their Umbrella counterparts, they are a lot more coordinated in their use. From the power to induce hallucinations, manipulate gravity, or summon a murder of crows that will be their eyes and do their bidding. Which power is your favorite?
