For seven seasons between 2008 and 2014, Kurt Sutter’s operatic biker series Sons of Anarchy ruled the small screen. Taking influence from both real-life motorcycle club the Hells Angels and Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the show was, for a time, FX’s highest rated series. It received numerous awards nominations throughout its run, with Katey Sagal, who played matriarch Gemma Teller Morrow, taking home the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role in its third season.
