Everybody’s favorite ex-king / ex-prince / ex-Avenger / still (we think) God of Thunder Thor Odinson will be back with us next year, in the eagerly awaited follow-up to Thor: Ragnarok, Thor: Love and Thunder. Written and directed once again by Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, JoJo Rabbit, What We Do In The Shadows, Thor: Ragnarok), the sequel is one of the most exciting prospects on the horizon from Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Very little is known about the plot so far, though we do know that Natalie Portman will be reprising her role as Jane Foster - hopefully giving the character a new lease of life, with elements taken from Jason Aaron’s epic run on the Thor comic.

We also know that a certain Christian Bale, he of Batman, American Psycho, yelling on the set of Terminator: Salvation, American Hustle and much more, will be taking on the role of the film’s chief villain, Gorr the God-Butcher.

This is an exciting prospect for Thor fans. Gorr is a fairly recent addition to the Marvel comics universe, but he made his mark with an epic rampage of god-killing revenge, stomping from one end of the galaxy to another on a brutal quest to sate his lust for revenge.

But in terms of introducing Gorr to the MCU, might there be some issues? Specifically, with regards to his preferred weapon?

And could the climax of Thor: Ragnarok offer a possible solution?

In today's video, we dive right in.
