Titanic was the first film to ever reach a 1 billion dollar worldwide gross. It won 11 academy awards. It is one of the most successful films in history. It’s been 25 years since the release of James Cameron’s iconic film. In this video, we’ll compare what was real and what was fake in James Cameron’s Titanic. Someone has to break down how authentic the movie actually is. It might as well be us.

In this video, we talk about Jack and Rose, who weren’t inspired by anyone on the Titanic, but have some inspiration behind them in Rose’s case. We also talk about how James Cameron added Picasso to the film, despite his artwork being nowhere near the ship. There are also conflicting stories about what song was being played by the band when the ship went down, and a small list of songs that were played alongside it. The video also discusses Isador and Ida Straus, who owned the Macy’s Department Stores and stayed on the Titanic together as an act of love. We also talk about real people from the movie, like Bruce Ismay, the ship’s famous coward; Margaret “Molly” Brown, one of the ship’s heroes played by Kathy Bates; and John Jacob Aster, the ship’s richest passenger. Finally, we discuss the many theories of what happened to the ship’s captain, Captain Edward John Smith. He went down with the ship, but his body was never recovered. There are tons of theories about him, and we break them all down here.
