When it was announced that Captain Marvel would be joining the MCU so close to the events of Avengers: Infinity War, many fans believed she would be the key to defeating Thanos. Afterall, she is one of the most powerful characters in the comics and the MCU and her late in the game addition to the roster would surely tip the scale in their favour. But it was Captain Marvel’s own movie that took some of the spotlight away from her when they revealed the source of her powers. Many thought that her superpowers would stem from the Quantum Realm, which is the running theory as to how the Avengers will undo the events of Infinity War by accessing the Time Vortexes within the Realm. Captain Marvel’s solo film revealed that her powers actually come from the Tesseract, not the Quantum Realm, which essentially axed her importance to the theory and put the spotlight back on one Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man. Scott is the only known survivor who has been to the Quantum Realm and knows how to safely enter it. By visiting the Avengers and presenting his evidence and theories, the collective minds of Bruce Banner and Tony Stark, along with Scott of course, may be able to open the door to the Quantum Realm yet again and venture forth through time to save, well, everyone. The final trailer for Endgame showcased the team in white suits, which we’re certain was the brainchild of Scott himself. Suddenly, the smallest person in the MCU, both in possible stature and cinematic scope, may have the largest role to play.
